      Especially for events, it is highly likely that I am interested in updated information during a limited time, 3-4 months (before and some time after the event). If you can provide a newsletter that only operates during this period I would rejoice.

        I wouldn't mind seeing events experiment with push notifications on the days of the event. Apps like Pushed are well suited for this, where users can accept notifications for a specific event (instead of having to activate them for an entire app). pushed.co
