          1. 1/ Yes, ethics is important but can also be misleading. Delighted the #designethics discussion is truly under way but be aware that "ethics theory" can be used to motivate any number of different paths. We need to be better at focusing on evaluating the IMPACT of our decisions.

          2/ So, rather than talking/arguing about what is the ethical path and start running down it, I believe there needs to be greater consensus on what impact we are striving for, what we want to AVOID, and HOW we will keep an eye on it to MANAGE it over time. #designethics

      4/ Honestly, I tend to give the advice that people avoid the word ethics when they want to make a difference inside orgs, as it triggers any number of different connotations that inhibit conversation. Better: talk about how we can best avoid contributing to harm.

    5/ The greater challenge is creating a broader understanding of all the different ways both people and planet can be harmed by design. And that, in my mind, is something we all need to start helping each other with. Through better listening.
