          Sometimes I see statements like this in the news. "While Tesla’s star began to fade long ago, Elon Musk, who named his car and his company after him, has contributed to a Nikola Tesla revival." No. No he did not.       Martin Eberhard came up with the name in 2003. He pitched it to his wife-to-be Carolyn at Disneyland. His co-founder Marc Tarpenning registered teslamotors.com on April 23, 2003.     The timeline of PayPal surprises a lot of people too. Confinity and x.com merged in 2000. Musk took over as CEO in April and was fired in October of the same year. The company wasn't renamed PayPal until June 2001. Musk kept his stock though after being fired.
