1/2 I have a bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and was on my regular checkup today (no worries). I had forgotten my id but we joked they could tell it was me via the ultrasound of my heart. This made me recall writings about heartbeats as biometric markers.

2/2 Your heartbeat - or cardiac signature - is completely unique and unlike your face or fingerprint it can't be altered in any way. Moreover, the surface movement on the skin caused by your heartbeat can be scanned from 200m away.
