1. Had a huge delivery yesterday that I've been working day and night to get finished on time. Very poor self-care on my part, I know, and you may have noticed some tired tweeting from me. But wow did I just get an energy boost.

2. A half hour ago I came out of a lunch meeting where a company book club had invited me to sit with them as they discussed my book(!) Such an amazing opportunity and so much fun. They got really concrete, discussing specific projects and what they could do differently.

3. And it all ended with a person coming up to say: "I really liked the tone of the book. Books and talks around this topic are often angry. But this was like a father sitting down with his children and telling them the ways of the world, you know like friendly."

4. I can't tell you how much this meant to me. I truly want to be considerate, and encourage rather than deflate, and am happy that I can from time to time succeed in this. We're all in this together. I do believe we make progress by picking each other up, not by forcing blame.

5. And I know I do not always succeed and my introvert side can get the best of me - which can be interpreted as being stuck-up and difficult. And sometimes I also get angry. Like in my "rap" earlier today. There's always a balance. I take a deep breath, and get on with it.

6. My point is, I'm in a better mood. And being in a better mood makes me better at helping others. Which is what I want. Schedule energy boosts. Tell people you appreciate them. I believe in you. You should too.
