            1. I’ve never stayed at an Airbnb. When you arrive, how much time do you spend looking for hidden cameras and microphones? Does your behavior change if you suspect they are there? Do you ask about this in conversation with the host? Ha, just more questions popping into my head...

In my dystopian thinking I imagine there are hidden cameras hosting private video channels that people can subscribe to for watching Airbnb guests go about their business. Imagining hundreds or thousands of people watching unsuspecting reality tv stars get ready for bed.

Do you think Airbnb has the resources to protect people from this? I mean, it’s another one of those ”if users report it, we’ll consider taking action.” Because sure, it’s adressed in the terms of service that hosts accept. theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2019/03/what-happens-when-you-find-cameras-your-airbnb/585007/

Security expert Carrie Kerskie: ”Anytime we travel, whether it’s in a hotel or we’re in an Airbnb... first thing I do with all the clocks, especially on the nightstands in the bedrooms, I just unplug them and put them in a drawer.” huffpost.com/entry/airbnb-hidden-cameras-how-to-find_l_5cad177de4b01bf96007085c

      7. Should we worry? Worry can stall us. I want people to be aware. There may not be maleficent intent. But there needs to be trust. The question is how we get there. Changing our behavior in spaces that should be safe is not the right future path. schoeyfield/1190907189986287617?s=21
