  1. When talking about the benefits of storytelling we also must talk about the big risks of storytelling. If humans are 'hard-wired' to respond to stories then these can be used to sway emotion and control a narrative that isn't necessarily true or representative of real issues. 1/3

      Storytelling is a form of nudging, meaning that we have to be transparent about the stories' intent and mindful of their impact. And we need to teach people to take time to reflect and reason on what a story is truly saying before acting on it. 2/3

        As humans we tend to respond to the story of an individual's fate with much stronger emotions than to the story of the fate of thousands. Stories are great, but their use must work hand-in-hand with a sense of responsibility and accountability. 3/3
